Counselling & Coaching

Counselling offers people a chance in the hectic pace of life to pause and reflect, and change the way they respond to life’s challenges.  I specialize in couples with relationship challenges, and I help individuals with low-level problems (i.e., not crisis situations or serious mental illness). 

Coaching is a related process, aimed at improving an individual’s effectiveness in a particular area.   One type is Conflict Coaching.  For example, I worked with a couple who had strained relations with their neighbours, to the extent that they considered moving.  After a brief consultation, they said:

"I believe you were able to get us to see where there was an opening on the other party's side...In our anger we had not seen the real message that the other party was sending...You have an amazing ability to understand the issues quickly and get to the heart of the matter. Your patience and easy going manner were assets to having us see ourselves."

I also offer Personal Coaching to individuals who want to achieve certain goals.  Finally, there is Sensitivity Coaching for individuals who have received complaints from their workmates.
